I’m 68 years old and had suffered for years from increasingly uncomfortable symptoms of post-menopausal vaginal atrophy and dryness. Prescribed oestrogen creams provided little relief but following a diagnosis of lichen sclerosis, I became aware of the Mona Lisa Touch treatment. After doing some research online, I consulted Mr Taylor to find out more and whether it might be helpful for me. He clearly explained the process, science and potential outcomes, noting that the range of positive effects varies from one individual to another. I was a bit sceptical but having read about the positive experiences of other women and being disillusioned with hormonal treatments, I decided to give it a go.
The laser procedure is straightforward and quick; I felt a slightly ‘prickly’ but not painful sensation. Immediately after the first session, I experienced some swelling and quite an intense burning feeling for a few hours but followed the post-treatment care instructions and things soon calmed down. The side effects of subsequent sessions were far less uncomfortable and with each treatment there was a notable improvement in my symptoms. Patients usually have three initial treatments around a month apart with an annual ‘maintenance top-up’ thereafter.
However, Mr Taylor explained that ongoing research suggests that for some women, a course of four to five initial sessions could be even more beneficial. So, feeling that despite the huge improvement I’d already experienced, there might be scope for me to make further progress, I proceeded with two more treatments. There was certainly additional benefit following the fourth but, for me, not as much further change after the fifth. Nonetheless, the overall improvement has greatly exceeded expectations. It wasn’t until I started to feel better, that I realised how much these post-menopausal conditions had impacted not just my physical vaginal health but my overall sense of self and well-being.
Mr Taylor and his team at Clarendon Health are all extremely kind, professional and knowledgeable. They are very good at putting patients at ease, are open and responsive to questions and the clinic environment is relaxed and welcoming.
I’m very pleased with the difference Mona Lisa Touch has made!

Feel Like Yourself Again with MonaLisa Touch Therapy
The MonaLisa Touch is a ground-breaking treatment used to treat gynaecological health problems that come with menopause, postpartum (after vaginal childbirth), after breast cancer treatment, and more. It’s been medically proven to work not only in expert peer-reviewed published clinical trials but also by detailed microscopic analysis and histological studies of the vagina.
The procedure itself is a simple, non-surgical, minimally invasive, and hormone-free treatment that utilises a gentle laser within your vaginal walls, targeting the layer of collagen. This will stimulate the production of collagen within your body rehydrating and regenerating the lining of your vagina as well as treating the sensation of laxity. In addition to this, appointments are available to book at a time to suit you, which is a major advantage of going private. The treatment only takes around 5 minutes to complete, and you’ll be able to go back to your normal routine within a day or so.
