  • Article 6(1)(e) – Performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.

Our lawful basis for special category data under Article 9 UK GDPR:

  • Article 9(2)(h) – Provision of health or social care or treatment and management of health or social care systems.

This is supported by the Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 1, Part 1, Paragraph 2.

5. How We Use and Share Your Information

Your information will only be used for your care and related administrative purposes.
We may share it with:

  • NHS commissioners and providers.
  • Your GP and other healthcare professionals involved in your treatment.
  • Regulatory bodies if required by law.

We will not share your information for marketing purposes without your consent.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your information is stored securely on SystmOne, an NHS‑approved clinical system.
We retain records in accordance with the NHS Records Management Code of Practice, which generally requires retention for 8 years after the last treatment episode (longer for certain conditions).

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your data (where applicable).
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Request transfer of your data to another provider.
