Dr. Isioma Nwokolo, MBBS, is a highly accomplished and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist, CEO, and Founder with a remarkable career spanning 38 years as a medical doctor and 33 years as a Psychiatrist. Having recently worked as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist at an NHS Trust, Dr. Nwokolo is also the visionary force behind two impactful initiatives: Freo Wellbeing online Holistic mental and physical wellbeing service and LINCC Foundation, a Limited by Guarantee Charity.
As the driving force behind Freo Wellbeing, a virtual, holistic mental and physical wellbeing platform, Dr. Isi has taken significant strides in promoting comprehensive holistic wellness.
The platform, encompassing Freo Retreat and Freo Wellness Centre, not only provides essential mental health services eg ADHD/Autism assessments and therapy, treatment for anxiety, depression, OCD, psychosis, relationships counselling etc but also pushes the boundaries of arts and culture through its remote access online art gallery, art classes, virtual holiday tours and book club. One of her big passions is to reduce the stigma attached to accessing mental health and wellbeing.
In her role as CEO and Founder of Freo Wellbeing, Dr. Isi has solidified her position as a mental health advocate and compassionate entrepreneur.
Her prolific articles on mental health have garnered widespread recognition, featuring on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
She has been nominated as a H-Cura Finalist, showcasing her commitment to excellence in mental health advocacy.
Dr. Nwokolo is not only a respected medical professional but also a mentor for the Black Doctors Mentoring Scheme and medical students.
Her dedication extends to being a motivational speaker on mental health issues, including domestic abuse and she’s a relationship, life, and ADHD coach.
Her impact has been acknowledged with prestigious awards, including the Compassionate Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women’s Community Impact Awards 2023.
Recognised for her contributions, Dr. Isi Nwokolo was nominated for the Black British Business Award in 2021 and the Cura-H awards 2024. She is also a co-author of “The Bristol Slavers” (2014), a poet, and a playwright.
Her commitment to education is evident through her contribution to the Royal college of Psychistrists supported, Cambridge University Press book on achieving CESR by Professor Nandini Chakrabaty. She has given talks on this subject to her colleagues as well.
Dr. Isioma Nwokolo holds memberships in esteemed organisations, including the General Medical Council, Royal College of Psychiatrists (Specialist Associate Membership), and the Medical Defence Union (MDU).
She has served as a Non-Executive Board Member for charities such as Hope for a Child in Guernsey and the WAAW Foundation, supporting young African girls in STEM.
With qualifications including a Medical Degree (MBBS 1987) from the College of Medicine, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria, an Executive Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (1999) from the Centre for Management Development/University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Postgraduate diploma in Heathcare Management from the University of Surrey, Dr. Nwokolo stands as a beacon in the field of psychiatry.

Dr. Nwokolo’s employment history includes support for athletes, founding and owning a hospital and drug treatment centre in Nigeria, and establishing an NGO charity aimed at helping homeless youth. She has also played a pivotal role in supporting the United Nations female Refugee program in Nigeria, providing assistance to female refugees from Liberia. She has worked within the NHS
